Born on 5 January, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the life story of Deepika Padukone is a roller coaster ride. As a teenager she was a badminton player which she left to make her career in the fashion industry and after that, there was no looking back.

In 2004, she started her career as a full-time model under the guidance of Prasad Bipada. She kick-started her career with modeling for brands like Liril and close-up which included television commercials. She considers this role to be the most challenging project of her career, both physically and emotionally. Her next production venture will be’83, which is a sports film based on India’s victory in the 1993 Cricket World Cup. Ranveer Singh is cast opposite to her where he plays the role of Kapil Dev and she has taken the role of his wife, Romi. She will also produce the movie based on Mahabharata’s character Draupadi, alongside cast with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey.

Padukone shared a romantic relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, who was her co-star in the film Bachna Ae Haseeno. She was quite open about her relationship and also sported her beau’s initials tattooed in the nape of her neck. She accepted that this relation had an ardent impact on her to evolve her as a more confident and social person. Their relationship did not work out. Later, in 2017 she spoke about her relationship with her co-star Ranvir Singh, whom she dated for more than 5 years before they got married in November 2018, in a traditional Konkani and Sindhi ceremonies at Lake Como, Italy.
Apart from acting, Deepika has actively spoken about mental and physical health. She has been involved and written columns for man magazines regarding health and fitness. She has supported various charitable organizations and performed stage shows. In 2015, she collaborated with Myntra to launch her own clothing line “All About You”. In 2019, she was appointed the chairperson of the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image.
In 2015, Deepika spoke about the darkest phase of her life and being able to overcome Depression. In October she formed “The Live Love Laugh Foundation” to create awareness about depression and anxiety. She launched many campaigns to support the cause to name a few, More Than Just Sad to assist the physicians in their treatment for patients suffering from depression and anxiety.
In her career till date Deepika has been honored with a total of three Filmfare Awards: Best Female Debut for Om Shanti Om (2007) and Best Actress Awards for both Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Piku (2015).
